Ballshooters / Robots Compatibility
The Fastpong tiles are compatible with any ball-shooter by attaching the sensor to the front where the ball comes out, this can be done with the included Velcro or some tape.
For the best experience, a robot from Fastpong offers full integration, to setup and control both the tiles and the ball-shooter automatically from the mobile app.
The Fastpong robot includes a specially designed part to securely attach the sensor to the robot head in exactly the right spot.
Tiles Display vs Mobile App
The new mobile app calculates the ballspeed and will therefore be able to know with more certainty when some tile hits are illegitimate, such as the result of bounce-back from the net.
As a result the number of hits shown on the tiles display will often be greater than the number shown on the app.
The (lower) number of hits shown on the app will be more accurate.
Sensor Accuracy, Ball Speed Accuracy
The sensors in the tiles are extremely sensitive. The threshold along with timing constraints to avoid double bounces. We lower the threshold for Reaction mode so that a gentle tap is enough.
The ball speed is a calculated using the time between the ball passing the ball sensor and hitting the tile sensor.
For legacy robots, the ball from most robots normally varies between 10-20 mph. The calculated speed is an approximation that should give a good indication of the ball speed as well as a general indication whether you are getting faster or slower.
When using the Fastpong robot, we know the placement of the ball, and the complete ballshooter settings. We therefore know the exact speed of the ball and the exact distance, so the speed calculation is more accurate.
Upgrade an old unit (FP01) to the new version (FP02)
If you have the original unit, it is a simple matter to buy an upgrade kit, and we will post you the new hardware so that you can get all the benefits of the new version.
It only takes about 15 minutes, and only requires the new PCB and a screwdriver. See the video in the support section.

New mobile app
The Fastpong app currently available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store is the new version designed for FP02 and is not compatible with the older FP01 hardware.
If you are using an FP01 hardware, you can download the legacy app here. Please note that the legacy app will eventually be retired, so we encourage users to upgrade to the new Fastpong FP02 system and app to benefit from the latest features, improvements and future updates.
The new Fastpong mobile app includes:
- more detailed performance & data analysis
- full integration with the Fastpong robot, allowing you to focus on playing instead of adjusting robot settings
- seamless training sessions by combining multiple exercises
- smart class management for coaches & teachers
- built in lessons and guided training
- more games & training modes
- rating tests & global ranking
- and much more

Robot Hardware Support (FPRY02)
For support relating to the Fastpong tiles (FP02), ball-sensor or mobile functionality, please fill in a support request to Fastpong support.
If you experience a hardware issue with the Fastpong robot (FPRY02), support for the robot hardware is handled directly by Y&T. In this case, please scan the QR code located on the back of the robot to access Y&T support and service information.
