step 1, place the boards together on the table

Setup (2 minutes)

  1. Place the tiles on the table
  2. Connect the ball sensor (port 'Sensor')
  3. Connect the robot (port 'Display')
  4. Power Tiles and Robot On
  5. Connect the mobile app

Attaching the ball sensor - integrated setup

  1. The holder consists of 2 plastic pieces, 2 nuts (placed in the ring piece) and 2 bolts.
  2. Place the ball sensor in the long piece. The cable comes out the back, the holes at the front of the sensor face the wide end.
  3. Attach the holder to the robot, the 2 bolts go through the long piece into the ring piece. The sensor will be held firmly in the correct position.

Attaching the Ball Sensor using velcro - Legacy Robot

  1. Velcro: Attach one side of the velcro to the flat side of the ball sensor
  2. Velcro: Attach the other side of the velcro to the robot
  3. Placement: the ball coming out of the robot should cross in front of the sensor. It should be as close a possible to the path without interfering with the ball coming out.

Upgrading the Fastpong tiles from FP01 to FP02 (under 10 minutes)

  1. Remove the acrylic
    - Tape the acrylic to the board
    - Turn the board over, remove the 4 feet and undo the 4 screws.
    - Turn to the board back and gently remove the tape and the acrylic panel (but not completely, remember the sensor is still attached).
  2. Remove the PCB
    - Undo the 4 screws on the main PCB and the 2 screws on the LED strip that is ontop of the main PCB
    - Remove the connectors (3 on the top edge, one on the left edge, and 2 on the bottom edge.
    - Remove the buttons from the old PCB and put them on the new PCB
  3. Install the new PCB
    - Put in the new PCB so that it is flush with the edge.
    - Reattach all the connectors
    - Reattach the screws (gently, not much pressure is needed)
  4. Replace the acrylic
    - Make sure that all of the 9 springs are in place, tape the acrylic to the board.
    - Turn over the board and gently reattach the screws and the feet.
    - Remove the tape.
