Fastpong Joins ITTF Sports Science Discussions at Busan 2024

Fastpong joined researchers and international table tennis officials at Pukyong National University during the ITTF World Team Championships Finals Busan 2024, sharing perspectives on technology, training and sports science.

Members of the ITTF Sports Science and Medical Committee and ITTF Sports Director Mikael Andersson met with representatives from Pukyong National University, Hanyang University and Keimyung University, alongside Fastpong CEO Amir Kamandi. The visit provided an opportunity to discuss ongoing research and possibilities for future collaboration.

Fastpong featured in the discussions as a training system using visual targets to support player learning and performance. Hanyang University researcher Siddhartha Bikram Panday explained that his team was testing the system and looked forward to sharing its findings with the table tennis community.

Amir highlighted the practical value of making training data accessible:

“With table tennis-related data accessible in real-time, coaches, teachers, and even players can benefit from using the system when examining training progress and performance.”

The meeting reflected a shared interest in connecting scientific research with everyday coaching. For Fastpong, it was an opportunity to contribute to that conversation and explore how interactive training and measurable feedback can support players and the people guiding their development.
